What We Do

Providing support and mentorship through events.

We aim to run both virtual and in-person events, connecting curious mentees with experienced mentors. Through these workshops, students will have the opportunity to ask questions and connect with one another, whilst having direct contact with the various mentors.

Our Objectives

What we're trying to do

Pass on knowledge and experience

Each individual has their own unique takeaways from their Sixth Form journey. We aim to pass on this knowledge to Year 12/13 students - helping them avoid the same mistakes that our mentors once made in their applications and studies.

Create connections

Allow students to connect with each other and also with mentors, giving them a channel via which they can ask for advice and guidance

Build partnerships

Work with organisations, like university societies, in order to grow our mentor community and impact.

Our Model

Why we use an events-based system

It is hard to sustain a mentorship scheme with our mentors being mainly busy volunteers currently at uni, and this can make it so we aren’t able to help as many people or provide a high quality of assistance.

To solve this, we are structured mainly around events, for example personal statement workshops or admissions test sessions, which makes it easier for our mentors to commit, and allows us to provide our mentees with quality support.

Mentees will still be able to network with mentors and ask them personal questions directly, with this system also naturally filtering to students who are motivated and ready to engage, allowing us to focus our support where it has the most impact.

  • Easier for mentors to commit to a single session rather than an ongoing commitment.
  • Lets us partner with schools and societies for venues, speakers, and reach.
  • Naturally filters to students who are motivated and ready to engage, so we can focus support where it has the most impact.
