About EdSeva

Giving back, run for students

Our task is simple: create a system which allows students who have been through the application process to give back and support younger students, the same way that they were supported.

Mission & Vision

Passing on knowledge from experience.

EdSeva was founded on the idea that the people able to provide the best and most relevant advice to help students through applications would be those who just went through this process themselves - many with the support of older peers who selflessly helped them.

Our mentors are students who have gone through the process, whether aided or unaided, and want to give back to the community by aiding others. From changes to their personal statements or core takeaways from admissions test and interview prep, mentors are able to not just pass on their experience but provide tailored advice to those aspiring to study in a similar field to them.

advice being given freely, the same way it was given to us, but now structured.

In the long run, we want to expand EdSeva across the board, whilst creating a community that allows students to give back.

Our Core Values

What drives our mission

Seva

Seva is the Sikh value of selfless service, a value which underpins this organisation.

Serial Reciprocity

Our mentors were once students who benefited from additional support, and now are giving it back!

Honesty

Through constructive criticism and an open forum for discussion, we maximise the quality of support students receive.

Community

We build connections between mentees and mentors, creating an environment centered around mutual growth, where everyone stays in touch and wants to help each other.

Our Team

Founders

Ishbir Singh

Co-Founder

Ishbir just completed Year 13, studying A-Level Maths, Further Maths, Computer Science, Physics and Punjabi, and currently has an offer to study Maths & Computer Science at Imperial College London.

He founded EdSeva in order to create a structured system for university students to be able to support younger students, having benefitted greatly from the support of older peers during his application process, and wanting to pay it forward further. He aims to grow the organisation as much as he can, aiming to not only expand to degree apprenticeships, but internationally too, for example the US admissions process.

Indjot Kaur Johal

Co-Founder

Indjot has just completed Year 13, studying A-Level History, Economics, Maths and Further Maths and currently has an offer to study Mathematics at UCL.

She founded EdSeva to support students through the application process, inspired by the guidance she received during her own journey. She remains deeply grateful for the free support provided by older peers and the extra time they dedicated to helping her with her applications. Through EdSeva, she hopes to give back by offering the same encouragement and mentorship to future applicants.
